Volt, save me!
—Alto Brontes only words to call for Volt in Brontes' Betrayal

Alto Brontes (Japanese Version: Joker Brontes (ジョーカー・ブロンテス, Jōkā Burontesu?)) is the evolution of Mega Brontes in the Bakugan Anime.

Information[]

Bakugan.com[]

Alto Brontes evolved from Mega Brontes. He has become mean spirited and gains more energy from defeated Bakugan. He has an extra set of arms to battle multiple Bakugan at once. His strength has grown ten times stronger, but has made him slower. A bright white circle on his chest can freeze a charging Bakugan with a single blast.

Anime[]

Bakugan: New Vestroia[]

Alto Brontes appeared when Gus used the Chaos Ability X on Mega Brontes and he was forced to evolve. Mega Brontes evolved into Alto Brontes due to this forced evolution. Gus later showed it to Volt to taunt him about letting Brontes go.[1]

Volt Luster and Gus Grav brawl because Volt wants Brontes back. He fought Boriates, Volt's new Bakugan. During the battle Gus taunts Volt by saying, "He screamed out your name, Volt." Volt loses to Gus, but Brontes is thrown away once again by Gus. He ends up somewhere in some sort of desert-like region of New Vestroia. Afterwards, he cries, "Volt, save me!", in the same place Dan Kuso and Baron Leltoy entered New Vestroia after Mira Fermin left. He and Volt were never reunited, as Hydron disposed of Volt for leaving the Vexos, and Brontes' ultimate fate remains unknown.[2]However, it can be assumed that he is living peacefully on New Vestroia, after the termination of the BT system.

Trivia[]

  • Brontes is the only Bakugan that Spectra and Gus evolved that lost his own will (he fought against evolving with Chaos Ability X).
  • Alto Brontes was the only non-Trap Bakugan from the second half of New Vestroia to be released as a toy in North America.
  • Alto Brontes was the first Bakugan to have ridges sticking out of his ball form to the extent that he was nearly impossible to roll. As such, every future Bakugan to have ridges that prevented them from rolling was said by fans to suffer from "Alto Brontes Disease."
  • His scythe in the anime has an uncanny appearance to Reaper's scythe in the first anime, except his is Haos colored and Reaper's is Darkus.
  • His Bakugan form looks almost exactly like Mega Brontes, but with two extra arms.
  • Though the evolution happened under Gus' "care" rather than Volt's, Brontes himself is the only Guardian Bakugan of the Vexos that did not defect from Zenoheld in the first half of New Vestroia that is still alive (Elico and Macubass (Mylene Farrow), Altair and Aluze (Lync Volan), MAC Spider and Hades (Shadow Prove), and Boriates (Volt's other Guardian Bakugan), Dryoid (Hydron) and Farbros (Zenoheld) have all been destroyed or killed by the end of the second half, leaving Brontes the only survivor of the Vexos Bakugan aside from those belonging to Gus and Spectra).
